Investments are just as much mental — and physical — as they are financial. This week’s guest is Justin Murphy, a former CrossFit competitor turned business owner. Just under a year ago, Murphy founded his own nutrition company, called iCoach Nutrition, as a culmination of years of interest in and dedication to the subject. To get there, though, he had to take chances as they came up and had to dive in headfirst, without any guarantees.
One of the greatest chances Murphy took was choosing to invest in a mentorship opportunity, which gave him the boost he needed to achieve, and surpass, his initial goals. It was about giving up excuses and putting his effort where his mind wanted to go. He had to learn from other people and give himself time and space to transform his life and restructure how he saw his future. That’s why he now says perspective, mindset, and accountability are key to getting ahead in life.
What You’ll Learn:
- Put effort into endeavors that have good returns
- Set priorities based on goals
- Set yourself up for success by making a plan and sticking to it
- Control your mindset and turn negative to positive
- Figure out your deal-breakers and work around them
“It’s all about structuring the thought that comes into your head and, if it’s a negative thought, restructuring it into something more positive.” -Justin Murphy
“If I don’t plan and set myself up for a successful week every single week, then I’m taking away from the impact I can make in people’s lives. It’s all perspective.” -Justin Murphy
“Individualization is so incredibly key.” -Justin Murphy
“Let’s dive in and ask as many questions as we possibly can, so we can start to strategize how to get you where you want to be and start to reverse engineer that process.” -Justin Murphy
“You are in control of all the thoughts that go into your mind and what you do with them.” -Justin Murphy
